We have decided to become Corporate Partners of The Wildlife Trust. Giving back is something that is very important to Ewing Associates and each year we try to support different local charities. This year our focus was to make our Financial Planning operation more environmentally friendly and to highlight the importance of sustainability to our clients.
To strengthen this, we wanted to choose a local charity to support significantly over the next year. One of our long-standing clients, recommended the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire and after research into their amazing local work we are very excited to become a Corporate Partner. We are especially looking forward to volunteering with projects and having a Team Building Day at the Great Fen in 2021. In the words of Sir David Attenborough ‘The world is finite and we need to look after it.
The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire is part of a national movement of Wildlife Trusts. The Trust works locally towards a big mission to stop nature’s decline by protecting and restoring wildlife and wild space across the three counties. Together, with the movement of Wildlife Trusts, the local Trust has a vision for at least 30% of our land and sea to be connected and protected for nature’s recovery by 2030. Making more space for nature to become abundant once again will give our struggling wildlife the chance to recover and also restore beautiful wild places – places that store carbon and help to tackle the climate crisis.
The Wildlife Trust BCN manages over 100 nature reserves covering a wide variety of habitats, and offers many opportunities for local communities to learn about and connect with nature, including events, training workshops and school programmes. Other elements of the Trust’s work include species and habitat monitoring; campaigning for wildlife; and working beyond the boundaries of nature reserves to advise landowners who manage important land for wildlife across the area. Their work is supported by over 34,000 members, over 60 corporate supporters and over 1,000 volunteers from across these three counties.
